Grand Canyon Development Partners Celebrates Groundbreaking with Donation to Opportunity Village

Major new development in Las Vegas benefits Opportunity Village’s ‘Betty’s Village.’

Grand Canyon Development Partners, a real estate development and construction management company, teamed up with OS Construction Services and the owner of the new development Evora to celebrate the project’s groundbreaking on Oct. 15. The latest development, a 42-acre mixed-use project, will be located one block west of Opportunity Village’s Ralph & Betty Engelstad campus. As part of the celebration, Grand Canyon Development Partners and OS Construction Services donated $9,000 for Betty’s Village, an inclusive residential community being developed for Opportunity Village clients.

 

Speakers included County Commissioner Michael Naft, Opportunity Village Vice President of Philanthropy Adam Joseph, Grand Canyon Development Partners President Sam Nicholson, OS Construction Services Inc. President Kevin Zahm, Evora Owner Joe Sorge, and a client of Opportunity Village.

“I am glad to be here to commemorate this partnership today,” says Commissioner Naft. “This will become the new center of this zip code, and I am glad I represent this district. I am happy to see those doing well now doing good and thank you for being such good neighbors.”

With this check, you have contributed to a community where those with developmental disabilities can have a play to live, work, and play as well.”

“We are excited to present this donation to Opportunity Village, that has done exceptional work in our community,” added Nicholson. “Evora is a close neighbor to the new Betty’s Village project, and we look forward to seeing this new facility open next year and help number Opportunity Village clients.”

 

 

Phase 1 of Evora will include nine residential and two commercial buildings. After completion, the development located on the southwest corner of Buffalo Drive and Patrick Lane will feature 1,343 residential units, approximately 240,000 square feet of commercial space, underground parking, and a luxury clubhouse with resort-style amenities and a rooftop deck. Patrick Littlejohn, who managed II Mulino in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace for over 12 years, and Emily Palmer, who owned and operated the Le Petit Café, will work with Evora for culinary offerings. Betty’s Village will promote socialization, connection, and enrichment for its residents living independently. The 6.7-acre gated community will offer a capacity of 82 residents with one-site security and 24-hour assistance.
